Bergsmansafton 2/6 om Rare Earth Pemanent Magnet Industry

Welcome to "Bergsmansafton" via Teams with Drs. Inna Soroka and Pavel Korzhavyi who this evening will give a presentation titled "Challenges and Opportunities for the Rare Earth Permanent Magnet Industry in Nordics and in Europe".

This will be a joint event between the Swedish and Finnish Metal & Mining Associations (SBF and VMY).

Time: June 2, 2026 at 18:30 – 20:00 CET.
Venue: Digital (Teams)
Language: English

The rare earth permanent magnets are critical for high-tech applications, driven by EV traction motors and wind turbines, with demand projected to grow significantly for key rare earth oxides. China dominates the market, controlling over 90% of global production, prompting European efforts to secure supply chains.
The presentation this evening with give an overview of the value chain for the rare earth permanent magnet industry, highlighting both challenges but also opportunities for the industry in the Nordics.
