The Norra Kärr project is a significant deposit of heavy rare earth elements (HREE), strategically located in southern Sweden. It is recognized for its unusual enrichment in Dysprosium (Dy) and Terbium (Tb), which are critical HREEs in the production of permanent magnets used in electric vehicles, wind turbines, and other advanced technologies, including defence applications.

The presentation this evening with give an overview of the Norra Kärr, the project history, resource and infrastructure overview and the next steps in the permitting and project development.

BIO: Kurt Budge is CEO of Leading Edge Materials since May 2024. Kurt has over 30 years’ experience across the mining sector — from majors to juniors, operations to corporate leadership, private equity to investment research.

Previously CEO of Beowulf Mining plc (2014–2023), Kurt delivered the Exploitation Concession for the Kallak Iron Ore Project in 2022, and in his current role has overseen the recent granting of the Exploitation for the Norra Kärr project.

He holds a degree in Mining Engineering from The Royal School of Mines, Imperial College London, and an MBA from London Business School Mining.
